Me and my mom use to visit the closest 'comic and games' shop near my house to borrow a specific comic series called 'Archie'. It became our small habit to visit that shop every week and strike a conversation with that lady running the place and borrow a different episode of Archie.
It's following a couple of main characters, one of them is Archie of course, and a bunch of his other friends from high school which are Betty, Veronica, Jughead, and Reggie. Of course there are also other characters like their parents and other schoolmates but they don't appear in every book.
The relationships in this comic series was something I found most interesting, which was Archie and Jughead are best friend, Reggie is the bully and the jock but occasionally stands up for the two idiots when needed. Betty and Veronica are also best friends but both of them are interested in Archie, which leads the two to constantly fight over who gets Archie in the end.
Most of the books showcase their lives as highschool students, going to parties, having sports matches, going to the mall, a lot of the usual things that American highschoolers do (coming from a south east asian perspective)
But because of their dynamic, this comic series doesn't only have one timeline. It explores many possibilities for example what if Archie married Betty, what life would they have and maybe even kids? Even with Reggie and Jughead they play into the role of what of Jughead, also known as a dunce, turn out to be the most successful after highschool how would that play out.
I think I have seen a few copies of Archie laying around here. I like how these have the feeling of Americana. But I always wondered what is Jugheads hat exactly? Was that ever real?
